Keuka College has named a seasoned higher-education administrator to fill a key role on its leadership team.

Rich Basler will join the College as vice president for Advancement, effective July 8. He brings a wealth of experience and a long-held commitment to higher education.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Rich to Keuka College,” said College President Amy Storey. "His expertise and dedication to advancing the mission of higher education will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our institution. We look forward to the positive impact he will make on our College and community.”

Mr. Basler comes to Keuka College from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., where he has served as the executive director of Advancement Operations. Prior to that, he was the director of Major Gift Development & Advancement Services at Bloomfield College in New Jersey.

As a Certified Fund Raising Executive — the only accredited certification in the fundraising profession — Mr. Basler is active on the CFRE International Board of Directors, where he is a subject matter expert on the Exam Committee and a member of the Finance Committee.

In addition to his CFRE credentials, Mr. Basler has earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation from the American College of Financial Services. These qualifications underscore his dedication to excellence and leadership in fundraising and philanthropy.

“I am honored to serve as the next vice president for Advancement at Keuka College and excited to collaborate with President Storey, the Board of Trustees, the College’s faculty, and the dedicated Advancement staff,” said Mr. Basler. “I look forward to the work of strengthening philanthropic support for the College, upholding its mission, and creating lasting impact for students of this generation and beyond.”

The Keuka College role will mark a homecoming of sorts for Mr. Basler, who is originally from Penn Yan. His local connections and passion for the region will further enhance his impact in his new role.

“Rich’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Keuka College as we continue to expand our commitment to excellence in education,” said President Storey.
